"Bohemian" Pastel Pendant

Bohemian Pastel Pendant by Carole Monahan
This necklace was inspired by the HOLI FESTIVAL that just passed on March 12Th.

This is a fun, quick necklace you can make this afternoon if you are like me and
STUCK in the house because of a snow storm!
WHERE is SPRING???

Materials:

Makin's Clay®  - White 60g
Vintage silk sari cloths - multi-colored
Pan Pastels
PYM II

Tools:

Makin's Professional® Ultimate Clay Machine®
Silicone stamp
Sponges for pastels
Round clay cutters in 2 sizes

Instructions:

Use the Ultimate Clay Machine® to roll out white Makin's Clay® on setting #1.  Place the stamp over the rolled clay sheet and press evenly.  Then use a round clay cutter to cut the shape.

Choose several pastel colors and start adding them to the stamped clay disc with the lightest color first.

I decided a hole would look good in the center of the pendant, so I used a smaller round clay cutter to cut out the center, then added the pastels around the cut edge.  This changed the entire design for the better.

Choose matching silk sari cloth in several different shades.  Lace the cloth ribbons up through the hole to form a tassel on the bottom of the pendant.  Choose another piece of cloth ribbon to hang your pendant.  Since the necklace is so long, a closure is not needed.

Seal the pastels with PYMII so your color will not smudge.
